4 Budget Tips for Planning Your 2020 Wedding

Weddings

15 Nov

While everyone knows that your wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life, many people get this confused with having to spend a lot of money. The average wedding in the UK today costs around £26,000 and for many couples, this isn’t an amount of money that they have to spend. Therefore, it is important to remember that there are many different options available to you if you don’t have any money set aside for your wedding, or if your current income means that you have don’t have thousands of pounds to spend on your big day. However, your wedding day isn’t about how much money you have spent but is about celebrating your love for your other half and committing to a lifetime together. So, here are some top budgeting tips when planning your 2020 wedding.

Get a Loan

If you are struggling to find the money that you need to pay for your wedding, then you may consider taking out a loan to help you fund it. There are lots of options, ranging from credit cards and personal loans to secured loans. For example, logbook loans are available at www.carcashpoint.co.uk. These allow you to borrow against the value of your car and repay the loan in affordable weekly repayments.

Start Planning Early

The sooner you can start planning your big day the better as this gives you time to shop around for some of the best-priced venues and dresses. Wedding venues are often booked up years in advance, especially the most reasonably priced ones, so you should try and get booked in as soon as possible. However, remember that you don’t necessarily need a posh wedding venue to celebrate your big day and many people have looked into more affordable and alternative venues.

Write Down a Budget and Stick to It

One of the worst mistakes that you can make when planning your wedding is spending more money than you can afford. You must set a budget for the day and have an idea of how much you want to spend on each area. This will help you to find the best deals and not overspend. Spending more than you can afford on your wedding day can put added pressure and stress on the first few months of married life. So, decide how much you want to spend, and stick to it!

Call in Favours

You may be surprised at the various different skills your friends and family have that can help you with your big day. For example, if you know someone who loves baking in the kitchen, then you could ask them to make your wedding cake to save money. Similarly, if you know a dressmaker, you may ask them to assist you with making your bridal dress or bridesmaid dresses for the big day. Even consider reaching out to a local band and ask them to entertain your guests in the evening. You will have just as good a day but at a fraction of the price.

If you are planning your 2020 wedding but don’t have much money to work with, don’t worry as there are plenty of options available to help you fund your perfect day.
