6 Romantic Ways to Celebrate Your Engagement

Parties & Events

26 Jun

If you have recently become engaged, you will more than likely want to celebrate this special time with your other half, as well as both of your loved ones.

Before you rush into wedding planning, you must take the time to share in this moment together, so you can look back on the momentous occasion with fondness.

To make the most of the unique experience, here are six romantic ways to celebrate your engagement.

1. Book a Getaway

Nothing can ruin your engagement buzz quite like returning to everyday life. To experience the excitement a little longer, consider booking a trip away with your partner. For example, you could check-in to a luxury hotel or a charming bed and breakfast for a romantic weekend getaway. It’s a great way to spend some quality time together before the chaos of wedding planning officially begins.

2. Schedule a Romantic Engagement Shoot

Commemorate this special time in both of your lives by booking an engagement photo shoot, which will remind you and your partner of the joy and happiness you both felt when he or she slipped a ring on your finger, or vice versa.

If, however, you’re looking for a photo shoot that’s a little more intimate and highlights the love and passion you have for each other, consider booking a romantic couples boudoir photo shoot.

3. Enjoy a Cozy Night In

There are bound to be a queue of people waiting to congratulate both you and your future husband or wife on your upcoming nuptials. After spending many days sharing your engagement story with your loved ones and showing off the ring, all you might want to do is relax and unwind with your husband- or wife-to-be.

If so, enjoy a cozy night in together. For example, you could cook a delicious meal, turn on romantic music, light some scented candles, and pop open a bottle of champagne.

4. Book a Family Dinner

It is likely both of your families will want to share in this wonderful moment together, which is why you should organize a family dinner. It will provide an opportunity for your parents and your future in-laws to get to know each other, and maybe even meet for the first time.

5. Treat Yourself to a Day at a Spa

While you are more than likely excited to start the wedding planning process, it can be a stressful time for you and your other half. To ensure you feel relaxed and stress-free, you should book a day at a local spa. For example, you and your fiancé(e) could book a couple’s massage, or you could treat yourself to a facial, manicure, pedicure or a scalp massage.

6. Return to Your First Date

If you want to do something romantic for your spouse following your engagement, surprise them with a trip to the location of your first date. It is bound to bring back many wonderful memories, and you’ll more than likely have plenty of things to talk about, such as your first impressions, the clothing you both wore, and how you felt throughout the date.
