Stripes at the Wedding

For a nautical wedding, using bold navy stripes in the decor can really kick it up a notch. Stripes can at times be loud, but if you use them in moderation they will give your wedding ceremony or reception that extra wow factor. When you have a themed wedding, you want your guests to recognize that but not knock them over the head with it. Whether it’s striped tablecloths, striped ribbon for the bridal party’s bouquets, striped ties or bowties for the groomsmen, or even stripes on the wedding cake, all of these provide a minimal touch.

Summer Attire For Your Groom

Who doesn’t love a pack of dashing men in black suits? But for a summer wedding, the heat can be torturous for your man on the big day. A cooler alternative for the guys is a classic linen or seersucker suit. Both fabrics come in loads of different colors, such as tan, beige, camel, latte, and khaki, and bolder colors such as blue, green, and yellow. Like black suits and tuxes, neutral colored suits can go with any colored tie or bowtie that will reflect the color palette from the ceremony and reception. Wearing light material and light colored suits will have your groom feeling cool, confident and sophisticated while at the same time being traditional in the summer.

Outfit Your Wedding in Red, White & Blue!

I can already see it- your navy-blue clad bridesmaids and groomsmen will look dapper in your nautical reception. Crisp linens, cobalt blue table settings, and bright yellow sunflowers create a casual and airy feel that is perfect for an evening by the water. Sticking with simple details, like wrapping candles in rope, will keep your decor fresh. Have a little fun with it too! I don’t think I’ve seen anything cuter than beers in a sailboat in a long time, except maybe that send-off in a boat .memorial_wedding_red_white_blue

Seaside Wedding Ideas

Sail away with your first mate in blues and whites and golds. A nautical wedding by the sea is an East Coast tradition, but if you have a love for sailing, you can bring this style to a shore much nearer to you. White lilies with blue ribbon and blue and white stripes are simple themes to build your wedding around. Have your bridesmaids wear  a lighter blue dress to break up the floods of navy that popularize this theme. Sea shells, starfish and vases filled with sand from you and your groom’s favorite beach are perfect table decorations.
