Trend Alert! Add a Lounge for a Relaxing Reception

The fun trend of reception lounges popped up in 2012 and is now making big appearances in 2013! I have to admit, I am in love love love with this trend. Adding a little reception lounge a few steps from the dance floor gives guests the ability to kick up their feet, relax, and mingle. It doesn’t matter if your reception is indoors or outdoors, modern or eclectic, day or night- a reception lounge gives your reception a little something extra that I promise your guests will be oohing and ahing over! Make the lounge swanky and cool by adding candles, curtains, and little personal touches. Hey, you could even turn the lounge into a cigar bar, wine tasting, or a little bites stop! Put a posh touch on your reception by adding the ever so chic reception lounge!

Reel Wedding Video: Reality Starlet DeAnna Papas Heartfelt Wedding Video

Do not – we repeat do not – miss today’s Reel Wedding Video! Last year reality starlet and former Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas married high school teacher Stephen Stagliano in Georgia. For those that don’t remember this southern belle, Deanna’s first taste of reality TV stardom was on Season 11 of The Bachelor, where she turned down Brad Womack (and I think we can all say she definitely dodged a bullet with that one). We are happy to hear DeAnna finally found her Mr. Right! They are a darling couple. You won’t find even a hint of scripted reality show drama in this wedding. This heartfelt and genuine wedding was beautiful captured by incredible storytellers and cinematographers IMAGIQUE. Congratulations to the newlyweds and well done to the wedding videographers!

Shot with a Sony a77 and Canon 7D. (a77 is all bride prep, groom reaction while watching video, groom face during ceremony, side shot during first look and all reception except one shot during their intro) Matching the two cams was a little challenging but as you can see the a77 holds up quite nicely against Canon DSLRs

All in all, a major challenge to edit as every single thing that could possibly go wrong from a technical standpoint did.
The biggest of these things is I screwed the pooch big time on the H4 for reception audio. I did not set it right and had nothing usable except the audio my onboard mic. I don’t normally take care of audio as I am usually editing the same day edit or shooting photos. I didn’t bring redundant audio stuff as it was last minute destination wedding and i packed real light. Not an excuse, it’s just what happened.

With the exception of the grand entrance, I shot all of the reception by myself and did not have the proper lighting gear I would normally carry with me nor the different angles as it was all with one cam. And the one led light i did have ran out of battery right in the middle of the groomsmen doing their dance thing.

However, all this being said, the content is there with this one regardless of the technical knit picks. I am not going to not put the speeches in because they don’t sound perfect regardless whether the perfectionist in me cringes a bit.

Soulbox Productions Sneak Preview: An Aggie Wedding at The Omni Hotel

Love this Sneak Preview Aggie Wedding Film produced by Soulbox Productions! This lovely couple met along side a river while both attending Texas A&M University. Cortney and Jake exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends (most of them fellow Aggies of course) at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
