Destination Wedding in Jamaica by Raquel Reis

The beauty in this destination wedding is how personal it feels. Instead of being thousands of miles away, everyone looks like they are celebrating in the couple’s {beachy} back yard. With a dapper groom in a white jacket, and a bride that oozes of old hollywood glamour, this wedding is classy, and comfortable. Can it get any better than that? There might be sand underneath your toes, but that doesn’t mean you should lose the glitz and glam of a wedding. The bride wore Christian Louboutin’s down the aisle and accessorized with a jeweled headpiece. Their wedding was held at the Round Hill Resort in Jamaica, and photographed by Raquel Reis.

Destination Weddings- Don’t Let Your Guests Forget These Essentials!

Going on a trip can be stressful, throw in a wedding and everyone is almost to their breaking point! Include a packing list in your wedding invitation that has all of you and your grooms trip essentials. Here is my list!

1. Matching luggage helps me stay organized. The navy blue luggage is stamped with my initials and everyone knows it’s mine. My luggage puts me in the best mood when I am packing.

2. I always feel glam when I am wearing sparkly jewelry. Pick up some wallet friendly pieces at Forever 21 that will transition you from day to night.

3. A cashmere wrap was the best gift I ever received and it keeps me cozy in the plane. It also reminds me of home when I am in a foreign hotel room.

4. Heels might be glamorous but flats are much better for the airport. They are way easier to slip on and off at airport security.

5. My favorite gadget is my iPad and I don’t go anywhere without it. Especially the airport! Find some free wi-fi and catch up on your favorite tv show while waiting for your plane.

Six Ways to Save Your Destination Wedding from Martha Stewart

Happy Tuesday! Once again, today is all about Destination Weddings!  In her most recent Martha Stewart Weddings, she focuses on the ever-growing destination wedding. When something goes wrong at your wedding it’s hard not to freak out; but when you are in a foreign country where you might not speak the language, it is impossible not to have a panic attack! Here are Martha’s six saves at your destination wedding. Don’t leave home without these!

1. Clear Nail Polish can reattach those rhinestones and beads that may have fallen off your dress during travel. A great thing to have when you can’t bring your hot glue gun

2. Dryer Sheets are easy to pack and will maintain their use throughout your trip. They keep your clothes smelling fresh and the will get rid of static!

3. Despite keeping your lips looking beautiful, Lip Balm can be used to un-stick a zipper.

4. Vodka isn’t only useful at the party. This handy liquor will give your diamonds a gleaming shine- just use a toothbrush!

5. Baby powder is perfect to treat those last minute stains. Don’t let a swipe of makeup on your white dress ruin your day. I also like to secretly use it to make my hair thicker- it holds the up-do better!

6. A banana is a great snack to fill you up- use the peel to erase scuffs from the guy’s leather shoes!

The best part of this list is that these items are easy to find and travel with. Many of them can be found (for free!) at your hotel. Don’t let a last minute problem ruin the fun- there is always a home remedy!

Destination Weddings- Fill the Suitcase with Stylish Essentials!

You won’t be flying in just for the ceremony and reception so don’t forget to pack your favorite travel clothes and accessories! As the bride you will be photographed over and over again so don’t let your fashion sense slip up. Tissue tees from Madewell are perfect- but you can find some at your local target as well! Don’t skimp on a casual cardigan or wrap, this will keep you warm at night! I love the ones at J.Crew. Maxi dresses & skirts are so comfortable and will keep you looking stylish- pack a few in bright, festive colors! Throw in your favorite bikini that you feel most confident & a tunic coverup. madewell_tissue_tee_destination_wedding_suitcasemadewell_tissue_tee_destination_wedding_suitcasemadewell_tissue_tee_destination_wedding_suitcasemadewell_tissue_tee_destination_wedding_suitcasejcrew_cardigan_destination_wedding_suitcasejcrew_cardigan_destination_wedding_suitcasemaxi_skirt_destination_wedding_suitcase_essentials

Last, but certainly not least are your accessories. A pair of knockout wedges will keep our legs looking fabulous, make sure your toes look just as great! A pre-flight mani/pedi will relax you before you takeoff. Large earrings in coral or turquoise will go with everything you wear. If you can find space in your suitcase (or your hubby’s) add a couple bright scarfs in fun prints!destination_wedding_suitcasedestination_wedding_suitcase
