This past weekend our team had the pleasure of attending and covering The Swoon Event in Dallas. This is not your run-of-the-mill bridal show. Nor is it your run-of-the-mill bridal market. Picture Pinterest - and spending an afternoon pinning beautiful, awe-inspiring, gotta-have-it-now goodness for parties and weddings…but in person. You can imagine the giddiness and ear to ear smiles. The Swoon Event took place at The Green Warehouse in the Trinity Groves community of Dallas and (sidebar: if you live in Dallas, near Dallas, or are planning a trip to Dallas – you must visit this vibrant, thriving, eclectic destination) primarily features non-traditional goods, services and inspiration for locals who are planning a wedding or event. However, you don’t have to be a Dallas Fort Worth native to partake. For example, Winifred Bean (our newest obsession) can be shopped online. Also available worldwide – Appy Couple, Design Roots, Posta Bella, Damsel White Label, Picture Perfect Day, and Apryl Ann Photography. If you love working with independant designers, are obsessed with discovering new talent, crave incredible distinctive art, and enjoy shopping small businesses then we highly recommend checking out and following all of The Swoon Event vendors.
Sparkly jewels, princess style ball gown, and a cathedral veil are three ingredients that every sophisticated bride has. This bride played up her glamour side & seriously hit it out of the park! The detailing on her gown is beautiful- I know our classic brides that have been planning a black tie wedding since the playground will obsess over her bridal look. This beautiful California wedding was captured by both friend & photographer Randi Marie.
When preparing for your wedding there are so many things to consider from the gown – strapless or sweetheart? All the way down the chain to the napkins – to monogram or not to monogram? With all these big and little decisions one needs not to forget the first thing your groom and guests will see when you come down that aisle…your face. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there simply is no avoiding stress all-together when getting married. It’s true. I don’t care if you’re planning the wedding of the century or doing a last minute jaunt to the JP in a label-less dress Carrie Bradshaw. There is still some sort of planning involved, big decisions to make, and new family members to meet and love. Getting married is one of the most exciting and biggest decisions of one’s life (or rather it should be Kim Kardashian) and with big decisions naturally comes a little stress. So don’t neglect your skin ladies! Below are the skin care products that I’m currently obsessing over. Consider these your skin care stress busters! I love each one of these for different reasons but if I had to pick 3 I’d stick with Cetaphil, Witch-Hazel and Philosophy Help Me retinol. Some are splurges and some are drug store faves, but for me personally I try not to feel too guilty when spending on my skin. Those Jcrew Italian Cap Toe Pumps are another story.
Featuring engagements is one of the things I love most about being a blogger in the wedding space. It’s the beginning of so many firsts. I like to think of it as a first chapter in a love story. Today’s first chapter love story introduces you to Will and Katy – who also happen to be family! When I received Katy’s Save The Date in the mail I immediately wanted to know who her photographer was and knew I had to share this Engagement Feature with my SB readers. Ashlee Ann of Ashlee Ann Photography described this shoot as playful, sweet, and relaxed. Katy’s inspiration was a blend of vintage meets casual country so Ashlee decided on Merriman House located just off the San Marcos river, followed by some time in Ramon Rucio Park. I love how this session turned out and think Ashlee Ann did an incredible job capturing this good-looking couple’s charming personalities. Congratulations and best wishes Will and Katy!
