Plantation Weddings, set on the steps of an old Civil War-era home, have captured my heart. Remember this gorgeous Southern wedding by La Cosa Bella Events? I still can’t get it out of my head! For a truly Southern wedding, Brides need to look no further than a wedding at Lowndes Grove Plantation in Charleston. This venue sets the bar and is decked out with lush florals in shades of pearl, peach, and dusty silvers. Ever since I got into the floral industry, I seriously obsess over flowers at weddings! These arrangements of white peonies, pink anemones, the david austin juliet rose, and ranunculus. All my favorites, y’all! Riverland Studios captured every moment, be sure to check them out when looking for a photographer in Charleston.
This past weekend our team had the pleasure of attending and covering The Swoon Event in Dallas. This is not your run-of-the-mill bridal show. Nor is it your run-of-the-mill bridal market. Picture Pinterest - and spending an afternoon pinning beautiful, awe-inspiring, gotta-have-it-now goodness for parties and weddings…but in person. You can imagine the giddiness and ear to ear smiles. The Swoon Event took place at The Green Warehouse in the Trinity Groves community of Dallas and (sidebar: if you live in Dallas, near Dallas, or are planning a trip to Dallas – you must visit this vibrant, thriving, eclectic destination) primarily features non-traditional goods, services and inspiration for locals who are planning a wedding or event. However, you don’t have to be a Dallas Fort Worth native to partake. For example, Winifred Bean (our newest obsession) can be shopped online. Also available worldwide – Appy Couple, Design Roots, Posta Bella, Damsel White Label, Picture Perfect Day, and Apryl Ann Photography. If you love working with independant designers, are obsessed with discovering new talent, crave incredible distinctive art, and enjoy shopping small businesses then we highly recommend checking out and following all of The Swoon Event vendors.
San Francisco is the perfect marriage of weddings + blogs. Social media has grown leaps and bounds in this northern city, so it’s only fitting that the weddings here would be meant to be showcased. Cue this gorgeous & traditional wedding. I am in love with these photos by Orange Photography of the ceremony at city hall. Those soaring ceilings create the perfect backdrop. I’m having a Carrie moment, y’all. Peaches & Creams are a huge wedding color, evidenced by a HYH post earlier this week. The incredibly talented Vibrant Events planned the event, with florals by Floral Design Studio.
Living in the Deep South shouldn’t prevent you from bringing in your favorite Northern California vacation spot. This is a gorgeous Napa Valley inspired wedding with a lush outdoor reception, flanked by long dinner tables. The low centerpieces are elegant, but maintain a casual aesthetic. Of course, my favorite element is the dance floor with the palm tree’s in the distance. Winsor Event Studio planned the affair captured by Lauren Pauline Photography.
Brights are making a serious comeback this year. 2012 might have been the year of blush & nude, but I know in 2013 we will see the return of yellow, turquoise, hot pink and my favorite, chartreuse! A little weary of mixing this colors? Then find just one to be the POP at your wedding! There are so many ways to incorporate brights into different styled weddings. Samanatha Dapper Event Design worked with Alyssa Marie Photography to bring us a rustic wedding, a whimsical modern wedding, and an ultra-glam wedding to show us the best ways to use color!
