This past weekend our team had the pleasure of attending and covering The Swoon Event in Dallas. This is not your run-of-the-mill bridal show. Nor is it your run-of-the-mill bridal market. Picture Pinterest - and spending an afternoon pinning beautiful, awe-inspiring, gotta-have-it-now goodness for parties and weddings…but in person. You can imagine the giddiness and ear to ear smiles. The Swoon Event took place at The Green Warehouse in the Trinity Groves community of Dallas and (sidebar: if you live in Dallas, near Dallas, or are planning a trip to Dallas – you must visit this vibrant, thriving, eclectic destination) primarily features non-traditional goods, services and inspiration for locals who are planning a wedding or event. However, you don’t have to be a Dallas Fort Worth native to partake. For example, Winifred Bean (our newest obsession) can be shopped online. Also available worldwide – Appy Couple, Design Roots, Posta Bella, Damsel White Label, Picture Perfect Day, and Apryl Ann Photography. If you love working with independant designers, are obsessed with discovering new talent, crave incredible distinctive art, and enjoy shopping small businesses then we highly recommend checking out and following all of The Swoon Event vendors.

Wanting to thank your bridesmaids for helping you tie the knot? Take a look at the knot shaped jewelry of Tiffany & Co., Kate Spade, and Dogeared. These pieces can be easily worn day to day or can be dressed up at night. The Kate Spade collection features earrings and bangles in shades of gold and silver. Tiffany & Co. offers various knot designs. Tiffany & Co. even offers knot shaped cufflinks- a perfect gift for groomsmen as well. Dogeared, a personal favorite of mine, presents there knotted bow pendants on a gift card directed to bridesmaids. Any of these designs are sure to be cherished by those in your bridal party.

Hues You’ll Heart: Periwinkle
Periwinkle is a sweet color that is not quite lavender or purple. It’s a perfect shade in between. This soft color adds a feminine and delicate touch to any wedding. I love when periwinkle is paired with white, like the white peonies and white baby breath shown below. This pretty periwinkle palette is great for any spring wedding!
Too Cute Teacups!
A unique way to add something creative to your wedding is to use teacups as decorations. Antique teacups can be used to create a vintage feel to the wedding. If the bride has teacups of sentimental value, then that is a great way to incorporate meaning into the wedding. Places like Etsy and Anthropologie have all sorts of teacups for any taste and any occasion! I think teacups add such a cute, feminine feel to the wedding. I love the DIY candle teacups as bridesmaid favors, and of course I love the cupcakes in teacups… too cute! Using teacups in the wedding adds a creative and personal touch to any kind of wedding!
