Vera Wang’s Red Hot Runway

Here comes the bride all dressed in…reds?! scarlets?! What a shocking moment that could be on your big day! Bridal Fashion Week 2012 has been nothing short of amazing. We have seen so many different styles, silhouettes, and fabrics, but one trend we didn’t see coming was red and scarlet colored wedding gowns! Vera Wang’s spring 2013 collection was a show-stopper indeed! It was full of deep red fabrics, intricate detailing, and full skirts. Vera commented on her new collection by saying, “The symbolism of red—boldly romantic, charming, protective, grand, seductive, sexy. From dahlia to scarlet, crimson and vermilion. It’s a celebration of love.” What better way to celebrate love than to wear red? It certainly would take a bride that is wanting to make a statement to walk down the aisle in a red dress. I love the idea of wearing something unusual. Afterall, it is your big day. Why not take a leap of faith and step out in a red dress? You would make jaws drop. So, what do y’all think? Would you wear a red dress? Leave a comment below with your answer!

A Few of My Pinterest Favorites!

We haven’t talked about Pinterest in a while, folks. So here are a few of my favorites on this beautiful Thursday afternoon! I am loving a large flowing train, rosette details, and detailed lace. How cool is that lace skull pattern? I’m also loving the look of sleeves- it just feels so classic and romantic!

Amsale Makes a Statement at Bridal Fashion Week 2012

Bridal Fashion Week New York is here! The Spring 2013 collections thus far have been absolutely breathtaking. One collection in particular has really catched my eye: Amsale. Oh, Amsale… THE leader of simplicity, elegance, and sophistication. I cannot stop raving about how gorgeous the Spring 2013 line is. It is full of timeless, simple silhouettes with a little modern twist. From peplums to capped sleeves, lace to tulle, one-shoulder gowns to short gowns, the Amsale show was nothing short of spectacular. If you are a bride looking for a contemporary, easy, sophisticated dress, Amsale is your girl! You will not be disappointed.

Funny Sunnies for Your Honeymoon

So the big day is finally over, and now it is time to relax with your honey! I’ve got one last thing (or maybe a few!) to add to your packing list…a new pair of sunnies!  It’s all about fun and self-expression. The main trends we are seeing today are: cat-eye, round frames, colorful frames, and gradient lenses. The greatest thing about these trends is that they can be combined! Some of my favorite sunglasses from this season are gradient cat eyes! They give a chic look with a touch of sass! Also, colorful, round frames are so much fun to play with! What’s better than a cute bikini on the beach paired off with a colorful pair of sunnies?! Not much!! Get inspired by the photos below then run to the mall to find the perfect pair of sunnies. Happy Honeymoonin!

Trend Alert! Say Goodbye to Veils…. And Hello to Headpieces!

Okay, so you have found the perfect wedding dress, but what about the finishing touches? Don’t get me wrong, veils are gorgeous, but they aren’t for every bride. Veils are very traditional, but seem to be slowly disappearing from the runways. There are so many alternatives to veils that allow brides to let their personalities shine through on their wedding day. From headpieces to florals to bows, any bride is sure to find a veil alternative that suits her personality the best. Even if you are wanting to wear a veil for the ceremony, maybe consider finding something different to wear for the reception! I love when brides switch up their attire for the reception because it allows the bride to show her personality, let loose, and have an amazing time on the best day of her life! Just look how many options there are for veil alternatives! The styles are endless!
