Either pale yellow and green to a create a subtle and sweet wedding or bright yellows and greens for a lively and energetic wedding. The Swoon Event – Don’t Miss This Stellar Recap
This past weekend our team had the pleasure of attending and covering The Swoon Event in Dallas. This is not your run-of-the-mill bridal show. Nor is it your run-of-the-mill bridal market. Picture Pinterest - and spending an afternoon pinning beautiful, awe-inspiring, gotta-have-it-now goodness for parties and weddings…but in person. You can imagine the giddiness and ear to ear smiles. The Swoon Event took place at The Green Warehouse in the Trinity Groves community of Dallas and (sidebar: if you live in Dallas, near Dallas, or are planning a trip to Dallas – you must visit this vibrant, thriving, eclectic destination) primarily features non-traditional goods, services and inspiration for locals who are planning a wedding or event. However, you don’t have to be a Dallas Fort Worth native to partake. For example, Winifred Bean (our newest obsession) can be shopped online. Also available worldwide – Appy Couple, Design Roots, Posta Bella, Damsel White Label, Picture Perfect Day, and Apryl Ann Photography. If you love working with independant designers, are obsessed with discovering new talent, crave incredible distinctive art, and enjoy shopping small businesses then we highly recommend checking out and following all of The Swoon Event vendors.
DIY Ice Cream Parlor
I know it sounds crazy but not everyone likes wedding cake. I know what you’re thinking…. Who are these people? Well, for those people there is a solution that might help their sweet tooth- DIY ice cream bars! These fun ice cream stations allow guests to get creative with their desserts, and they have the chance to eat their ice cream the way they like it (extra sprinkles, please!). This can also be fun for the younger party guests. I love the idea of having an ice cream bar at the reception; I also love the idea of having wedding cake with my DIY ice cream…. best of both worlds!
Laced up in Love
Although lace has been a standard on the wedding scene for quite some time, it’s a big wedding trend for 2013. Lace is making a major comeback, and it can be found on lace wedding cakes, reception details, and of course, wedding dresses. Lace is perfect to incorporate into weddings because it adds a feminine and vintage feel. Lace is also a classic wedding detail. I love how creative and unique people are getting with their use of lace. What creative ways would you like to add lace to your wedding?
