Trend Alert! Modern Flower Girl and Ring Bearer Attire

Gone are the days of little white dresses and little white patent shoes for the flower girls, and gone are the days of little black tuxes with black ties for the ring bearers. A huge wedding trend that has taken off is the modernization of attire for flower girls and ring bearers. Instead of the classic white and black, we are seeing fedoras, tutus, and colors! Also, instead of  the flower girls carrying the traditional basket of flower petals and the ring bearers carrying the traditional pillow, we are seeing TONS of DIY signs and banners. What a fun modern touch to put on your big day! So all you brides-to-be, have some fun! Dress your “little” wedding party in a way that represents your theme, decor, and colorway. Just look what a difference it makes!

Country Weddings Deep in the Heart of Texas

Growing up in the South, there is nothing I love more than cowboy boots, mason jars, and sunflowers. They remind me of the slow, relaxed, southern way of life. What better way to celebrate your wedding than to take it right back to your roots? Country weddings create a vibe that allow guests to kick off their shoes and hit the dance floor to boogie! And don’t you worry about having to give up elegance if you have a country wedding- there are plenty of ways to create a chic, romantic, country wedding. Look at how fabulous these country weddings are! Congrats on getting hitched, y’all!

Austin Engagement Shoot by Melissa Hayes

I love this authentic Austin engagement shoot! Have any of you taken pictures by the historic murals? My favorite is I love you so much, of course!  Chicago based photographer Melissa Hayes captured this fun couple as the lounged in the fields, played chess, and bantered over that old school turquoise car! The bride-to-be created a stylized set for her shoot, incorporating lots of history from their dating life. I can’t tell what looks better- this beautiful couple, or breathtaking Austin?

From the Bride: We took photos in front of murals and pretty buildings. We took photos at romantic hotels in town — placed we’ve stayed or hope to stay one day. We took photos from a scenic overlook we’ve often walked or biked to to watch the sunset. We took photos of us playing chess because we like to play chess when we go on camping road trips to the beach.

A Little Trick to Keep Your Budget From Blooming

Little compares to the love I have for flowers! But as everyone who has planned a wedding can tell you, floral costs add up, and they add up fast! It is easy to get carried away with the hundreds of options of floral arrangements. The biggest piece of advice I have for every bride-to-be out there is buy flowers that are in season. Buying flowers that are in season will save you hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. The types of flowers offered each season are endless, and are sure to appeal to any bride no matter the theme or colorway of her wedding. Also, keep in mind the location of your wedding. To cut costs even more, choose locally grown flowers instead of flowers that are grown elsewhere and have to be shipped to the wedding venue. I promise you, you will save some money if you follow this simple trick!
