Mondays with Madi: How I Asked My Bridesmaids

Happy Monday Y’all!

Asking your dear friends to be a part of your bridal party is an exciting thing!  The women who will be standing as my witnesses on that day are girls who have seen me at my worst, been supportive in some of the most difficult times and celebrated many joyous occasions with me.  They each have also been very special roles of support in my relationship with BRS and for that I am very thankful.

I wanted to make sure that each of my sweet friends knew how much it would mean to me to have them by my side on that day when BRS and I make our covenant to one another.  Handwritten notes are a great way to show sincerity and appreciation for others.  They also allow a lot of room for creativity!

For this “bridesmaid proposal” I decided to carry out our wedding’s rustic theme with the use of burlap and twine.  I used a vintage design “Will You Be My Bridesmaid” printable from Wedding Chicks as my stationary.  (Wedding Chicks also has great Thank You notes, Invitation Suites, etc that you can print for free!)

I attached each note to a mini-bottle of champagne (in honor of the celebration to be had!).  On the back of the stationary is where I wrote out my request to have each bridesmaid share in our special day.  I think they turned out pretty cute!

Cap Off Your Wedding Day Style With These…

Who doesn’t love shoes? No outfit is complete without the perfect pair of shoes, and this statement is true especially on your big day. With the trends of metallics, neons, stripes, and polka dots emerging in the wedding world, shoes are a great way to incorporate these trends into your wedding. I absolutely adore when brides opt for a fun, colorful pair of shoes instead of the traditional white. A trend that is expected to be hot in spring/summer 2012 is cap toe shoes, and boy do I love them! They give a little touch of classy to any color or style shoe. Celebrities are sporting them everywhere! From flats to pumps, these cap toe shoes are making their mark!

Do you have an old pair of pumps or flats that need a little spruce? Check out this DIY Cap Toe Shoes from Hits and Fits. It is so easy to do! Add color, sequins, jewels, anything really! Have fun, and let your shoes express your personality on your big day!

Pastel Wedding Color Palette with DIY Features

This wedding on Style Me Pretty comes all the way from Australia, but I am just absolutely in love with this bride’s dress! It is full, but not poofy; glamorous, but not sparkly; dramatic, but not overwhelming. Of course we are in love with the mismatched bridesmaids dresses. That is definitely a trend that I forsee to stick around for a long time! A great element of this wedding is the DIY feel- I especially love those large letters {see below!} They are large and in charge. So fun! And you can definitely recreate them yourself.

Enchanted Forest Ceremony & Elegant Garden Reception in California

Everything about this wedding makes me feel sweet and sugary. From the romantic dress with cap sleeves and glitzy lace to the soft invitations with just a hint of a lilac print. You can recreate this garden party with a flapper-style wedding dress and bejewled shoes; mismatched bridesmaid dresses in the softest pearly-blue color; and a breathtaking setting beneath a canopy of trees. The reception is simple with long tables, and large candles as centerpieces set atop a soft, lace table runner. This couple got married at a private residence in Calistoga, California and was photographed by Greg Slick.
