This past weekend our team had the pleasure of attending and covering The Swoon Event in Dallas. This is not your run-of-the-mill bridal show. Nor is it your run-of-the-mill bridal market. Picture Pinterest - and spending an afternoon pinning beautiful, awe-inspiring, gotta-have-it-now goodness for parties and weddings…but in person. You can imagine the giddiness and ear to ear smiles. The Swoon Event took place at The Green Warehouse in the Trinity Groves community of Dallas and (sidebar: if you live in Dallas, near Dallas, or are planning a trip to Dallas – you must visit this vibrant, thriving, eclectic destination) primarily features non-traditional goods, services and inspiration for locals who are planning a wedding or event. However, you don’t have to be a Dallas Fort Worth native to partake. For example, Winifred Bean (our newest obsession) can be shopped online. Also available worldwide – Appy Couple, Design Roots, Posta Bella, Damsel White Label, Picture Perfect Day, and Apryl Ann Photography. If you love working with independant designers, are obsessed with discovering new talent, crave incredible distinctive art, and enjoy shopping small businesses then we highly recommend checking out and following all of The Swoon Event vendors.

Bring the Indoors Out with Church Details
Are you torn between the traditional church wedding and a beautiful scenic outdoor wedding? Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too!? Bring the indoors out with church details, set up, and accents. You don’t have to lose the grand church door entrance, the beautiful view of an altar, or pew seating by choosing an outdoor wedding. I don’t think anything is more gorgeous than an outdoor wedding with a church-feel surrounded by breathtaking scenery!! So elegant, so fresh, so organic, so perfect….

Mint Green and Melon St. Louis Vendors Styled Shoot
It’s been a little too long since we featured a beautifully styled vendor shoot- so here is to Friday & the weekend with a mint green and melon shoot by some fabulous St. Louis Vendors! Mint green was a huge color last spring, and as always with fashion trends, it is making it’s way into weddings. We showed you many ways to add mint green into your color palette in 2012, and I am so excited to see how you minted your wedding! Bliss Eleven Studios worked with the top vendors in St. Louis to create this spunky and fresh shoot. Worn Vintage Rental worked as the event designer with floral experts Les Bouquets. Check out all of the talented vendors below!
Let’s Light Up The Place
Light up your wedding reception with beautifully lit candle centerpieces, or even your ceremony aisle with romantic white candles. Candles can make any beach, backyard, barn, winter, summer etc. wedding dreamy and classic. With a dark room, candles makes the ambiance romantic and a more elegant affair. I love the idea of using mason jars as candle holders, which would line up a table for a barn wedding. It is such a simple and inexpensive way to create such a beautiful table.
Pretty Parasols
Are you looking for a subtle way to add a feminine and vintage feel to your wedding? Then parasols are the way to go! These pretty parasols can actually be used in ways other than shading, although that is a great advantage on sunny days! Parasols are very photogenic… see below how cute they make the pictures! They can also be hung upside down to decorate the ceiling of a tent; you can hardly tell they are parasols when they are upside down! Even if your parasols don’t have a practical purpose at your wedding, they are still so cute and fun to twirl around!
