DIY Wedding Day Survival Kit

Even though you hope for your day is perfect, most likely it won’t be without a few {minor} hiccups. It’s the trivial setbacks like a blister from your Manolo Blahnik’s or case of halitosis where a DIY Bridal Survival Kit saves the day!  For the inevitable teary eyes pack some tissues, and for the bridesmaid who had one too many cosmopolitans at your rehearsal dinner bring some aspirin.   Don’t forget band-aids for the blisters and breath mints for bad breath!  Put all of these items in a cellophane bag, then attach the label at the top, and voila you have yourself an emergency kit for you and your bridesmaids.

Mondays with Madi : Search for The LWD…The Little White Dress

Another Monday, another Mondays with Madi!

Last week it was so fun to share the progress we’ve made in our wedding planning so far! This week we’re talking pre-wedding-day fashion.

Taking full advantage of being a bride, I am for sure going to be using to our engagement photo session, bridal showers, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, etc. as an excuse to embrace little white dresses! Lately my online history has been full of LWD searches and I am loving what is out there this season!

Take a look at some of the fun LWD’s I have found.  I know several of my bride-to-be friends could put these to use and I cannot wait to snatch some up for myself!

John Zack Lace Swing Babydoll Dress

I received an email over the weekend that I have a package to pick up this afternoon…I’m pretty sure it’s the first of my LWD collection! If so, and all goes well…you’ll see it debut in our engagement photos here in the next month!

Which of these LWDs is your favorite? Any other places you know of to find a great LWD?  Leave a comment to let me know!

Cinco de Mayo weddings bring bright colors, margaritas, tacos and churros- sounds like quite the combination to me! If you are planning a May wedding, consider a Cinco de Mayo themed wedding or even a few elements to fit the day.  What better way to celebrate a new life with your new hubby than to have a fiesta?! The colorful decor and flowers, the yummy Mexican bites, and the sound of a mariachi band are sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests.

Float Away With Our Wedding Balloon Inspirations!

Balloons as wedding decor? You got that right! Decorating with balloons is a huge trend emerging in the wedding world. Decorators are using balloons for table centerpieces and reception decor, and photographers are using balloons for wedding party and couple photos! When done right, balloons give a modern feel to any event. Just make sure not to over-do! Make the balloons unique and classier by alternating the string for streamers, a line of pom poms, or clear fishing lines. Also, think about decorating the balloons if you are aiming for a themed wedding.

Another great use of balloons is for the send off! How fun is it to have hundreds of balloons floating right above you as you are off to your honeymoon? Makes for a great photo-op! Check out our balloon inspiration below for different ideas on how to use balloons on your big day.
