Table Décor: Small Center Pieces and Candles

Sometime at a reception, the table décor can get out of hand in terms of both cost and decor. A simple and affordable solution is to use small centerpieces such as low profile flower vases and candles. These small centerpieces will make it easier for guests to talk to others across the table and also have a clear view of the dance floor, cake, and the newlywed couple. Place small or medium sized candles around the centerpieces to accent the beautiful flowers and to bring light to the table. This exquisite and affordable centerpiece idea can be used for any type of wedding. It is easy to make a big statement with small pieces like these without breaking the bank or your guests’ eyes.

Keep Koozies Kool

It seems to be the norm these days to have a koozie when you go out with friends so your cold beverage doesn’t make your hands moist or even freeze. Same goes for weddings. At a hot outdoor reception I love to see a bartender hands guests a beer already in the koozie. You can hand out koozies through out the reception or you can make them part of the party favor or travel bags for wedding guests. Koozies are easy to design with fun fonts, colors, and witty sayings/mottos that accompany the wedding date and the bride and groom’s names. They are also relatively inexpensive. These festive wedding favors can be used every day and last indefinitely, so every time your friends have a cold one, they can think of the happy couple and the amazing time they had at your wedding.

Wooden Signs For a Rustic Wedding

For a rustic, outdoor wedding, little details make a big statement. I’ve noticed that with these weddings a fun touch is having wooden signs to direct wedding guests where to go or as part of the wedding photos. “TrueConnection” is a shop on Etsy.com that creates wooden signs that fit perfectly with a rustic themed wedding. Each sign is mostly made from salvaged cedar wood and can be customized with any type of font, simple design, and paint color. These signs work for other occasions too, such as anniversaries, birthday parties, and graduations. These signs are creative, fun and enhance that rustic feel.

Mondays with Madi : Search for The LWD…The Little White Dress

Another Monday, another Mondays with Madi!

Last week it was so fun to share the progress we’ve made in our wedding planning so far! This week we’re talking pre-wedding-day fashion.

Taking full advantage of being a bride, I am for sure going to be using to our engagement photo session, bridal showers, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, etc. as an excuse to embrace little white dresses! Lately my online history has been full of LWD searches and I am loving what is out there this season!

Take a look at some of the fun LWD’s I have found.  I know several of my bride-to-be friends could put these to use and I cannot wait to snatch some up for myself!

John Zack Lace Swing Babydoll Dress

I received an email over the weekend that I have a package to pick up this afternoon…I’m pretty sure it’s the first of my LWD collection! If so, and all goes well…you’ll see it debut in our engagement photos here in the next month!

Which of these LWDs is your favorite? Any other places you know of to find a great LWD?  Leave a comment to let me know!

Create Your Perfect Event with a Tent

What is more gorgeous than a Texas sunset? Couples who plan an outdoor spring or summer wedding in Texas often are spoiled by the beautiful backdrop of oranges, pinks, and purples of the Texas sky. Finding an outdoor venue in Texas is easy, but finding a tent that compliments the space sometimes proves to be a bit of a challenge. Some of the most amazing wedding tents can be found at these DFW vendors: Big D Party Rental, Live Wire Special Events, and  M&M Special Events Company. Each of these companies carries multiple tent sizes, catering to any wedding size. Not completely sold on the idea of a tent wedding just yet? Here’s some inspiration….

This is one of my favorite ideas for a tent wedding. They used an old parachute!! How creative! It gives the traditional idea of a tent a fresh, fun twist…not to mention how ELEGANT it makes the space look! I adore this look.

This couple created a romantic, warm, elegant reception area by adding florals, chandeliers, colored lighting, and colored linens. Chandeliers hanging from the tent have become more and more popular. I have to say, it is one of my favorite trends! Chandeliers remind me of jewelry, and no outfit is complete without jewelry… just like no space is complete without a chandelier. It adds a feminine finishing touch to the space!

These two tent creations show how versatile a tent can be! On the left side, the couple chose a clear tent which allowed for the greenery and sunlight to shine through. On the right side, the couple opted for a cozier, more intimate setting by choosing darker colors and choosing to enclose their tent with walls. Both of these couples chose to drape fabrics on the ceilings. This is a perfect way to add pops of color and create a more finished look.

Here are some more tent weddings that are to DIE for!

I believe that every outdoor wedding needs a tent. Texas weather is unpredictable, so it is nice to have a tent large enough to hold the ceremony or reception if Mother Nature gives you an unexpected wedding gift. Plus, a tent gives you a BLANK canvas! As a couple, you had complete control over the decor and theme of the tent because here are no limits when it comes to decorating a tent.
