Cheery Summer Affair

Planning a summer wedding? Don’t know which direction to go? Well, what better way than to just embrace all things summer?! Bright colors, luscious florals, lemonade, mason jars, bold patterns… ahhh why can’t it be summer year-round? For a cheery, relaxing summer affair, embrace the pinks, purples, blues, oranges, and greens. Go for a variety of florals and place them in mason jars. Look for a bold patterned table runner. Serve yummy iced drinks to keep your guests cool and comfortable. If I could give you ONE piece of advice for a summer “themed” wedding: choose things that make you smile! What better way to celebrate the biggest day of your life than with happy, bright, cheerful things around you!

To Look or Not To Look: That is the Question

Tradition says that seeing each other before the ceremony is bad luck. Some couples today are making compromises and exceptions to this tradition, and I think it’s a great way to get the best photos with your photographer before the wedding craziness! With the pressure of wedding pictures–coordinating families, wedding parties, and friends–after the ceremony, things can get a little overwhelming and pictures of the new couple can often be rushed. So why not take a moment before the ceremony to capture this ever so sweet photo!? Do you feel like it takes away from the sacredness of the ceremony? Let me know in the comments below! For a few ways to take a few pictures, but still stay hidden from your groom try to exchange letters, put a blindfold on, hide behind a door, or stand back-t0-back.

Lowndes Grove Plantation Wedding by Riverland Studios

Plantation Weddings, set on the steps of an old Civil War-era home, have captured my heart. Remember this gorgeous Southern wedding by La Cosa Bella Events? I still can’t get it out of my head! For a truly Southern wedding, Brides need to look no further than a wedding at Lowndes Grove Plantation in Charleston. This venue sets the bar and is decked out  with lush florals in shades of pearl, peach, and dusty silvers. Ever since I got into the floral industry, I seriously obsess over flowers at weddings! These arrangements of white peonies, pink anemones, the david austin juliet rose, and ranunculus. All my favorites, y’all! Riverland Studios captured every moment, be sure to check them out when looking for a photographer in Charleston.
