Mondays with Madi : 6 months down, 8 to go!

Hey y’all!

So great to be back with another Mondays with Madi post. This past weekend sweet BRS came to Fort Worth for a visit and we celebrated 6 months of engagement! It’s been a crazy ride so far but so much fun.

And I still just adore this sparkler which adorns my left hand! (Maybe a post about my bling is in our future?)

Right now we’re looking at another 8 ½ months until W-Day and I’m feeling pretty content with our planning progress up to this point.

Here are just some of the bigger tasks we’ve checked off our list so far:

  • Found my bridal gown (Remember I’m a traditional gal so I’m keeping it a secret until our big day! But here are some pretty gowns I’ve tried on!)

  • Asked members of our bridal party (cutesy DIY ideas here and here!)

  • Picked out, ordered and received bridesmaids’ dresses (post to come!)
  • Booked DJ (post to come!)

I will be traveling home to Kansas City this next month and in that time BRS and I are prepared to tackle some more wedding tasks we have on our list:

Here are a few on our list:

  • Schedule and have our first pre-marital counseling session
  • Begin the search for Groom’s/Groomsmen attire
  • Finalize our guest list
  • Begin registries
  • Start our search for Save the Dates

To our current Society Brides and viewers, do y’all have any suggestions on must-have registry items for BRS and I?  Which stores have the best registry systems? I’m thinking a post on our registry adventures is in store here in the next month or so!

Leave a comment and let us know!

About a month ago, the gals of Society Bride had the privilege of attending a showing of the new De Ma Fille shop in Fort Worth. You can read all about our amazing visit to De Ma Fille here! Megan has totally revamped De Ma Fille and has brought in some amazing wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses that are to die for. If you haven’t had a chance to stop in to see all the new merchandise, be sure to pop in or make an appointment. We were drooling over all the dresses and were wishing we could play dress up all day long! I wanted to give our followers a sneak peek of all the new dresses Megan just got in! Megan loves to keep up with the latest trends, and it really shows through her merchandise! Look how fabulous all these dresses are!

Enzoani “Gerry.” The bodice is full of micro pearl beading and crystals, a fitted lace gown and gorgeous chapel length train.

Left: Alvina Valenta 9211. The bodice is a silver metallic with a jeweled taupe ribbon and a glitter sparkled skirt.

Right: Alvina Valenta 9216. I love the sheer one shoulder look. This dress is dreamy with it’s lace bodice with roses on the waist and full skirt.

Enzoani “Ghislaine” is an absolute fairy tale! There is hidden lace beneath the top layer of the skirt and on the outer layer is a gorgeous lace scallopped hem, on the waist is the micro pearl beading with crystals.

Enzoani “Grace” is it’s name… Grace. Beautiful soft tulle with lace appliques

Enzoani “Gratchen” is a sparkler. This fitted gown looks amazing on our brides. The touch of metallic gives a modern touch to the mermaid style gown.

Farm-to-Table Colorado Reception

One of my goals for 2012 was to know exactly where my food comes from. This healthy attitude has been quite the improvement, and I am always looking for creative ways to dine out! A new trend- and hopefully one that is here to stay- is farm-to-table. These restaurants feature only local grown food and they have fabulous relationships with their farmers and growers. I love this Colorado wedding because they incorporated farm-to-table food into their reception. There’s no reason to skimp out on healthy eating  just because you are at an event! Not to mention, this is one b-e-a-u-tiful wedding, photographed by Ashley Davis Photography and originally featured on Style Me Pretty.

Behind the Magic of Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013

Oscar de la Renta, the KING of bridal fashion, has been the talk of the town since bridal week. His spring 2013 collection, down to every detail, is truly flawless! His use of blues, laces, tule, floral, and beading is unlike any other designer. The range of this collection is spectacular. There is truly something in this collection for everyone, no matter your taste whether it be funky, classic, or modern. One of my favorite aspects of Oscar’s collection was the sleeved gowns- much different than the sleeveless gowns from recent years. I have to admit, I love a sleeved gown. It is so elegant and classy! Also, being the nail obsessed gal I am, I am loving the idea of baby blue nails. What a modern touch to the traditional “something blue!”
